550 SOUTH FLOWER STREET 2011 N 90071 Los Angeles US
Designed with business travellers in mind, the hotel occupies a 12-story tower built in 1952 clad in Carrara marble. The 1950s corporate look has been retained, with its 15-time-zone clock and polished aluminium accents. Nothing is standard about the decor, which has theatrical and exhibitionistic qualities that bode well with the clientele. The original columns are sheathed in mirrored glass and the lobby lounges 125-foot long pink sofa has raised sections for guests who want to put themselves on display. A hairdressing salon is available on site.
